The Arabian civil society united for facing climate change
"Arab Alliance against Climate Change" Calls on Arab Governments to do the same


[Amman/Beirut/Cairo/Dubai/Maghreb/Ramallah], August, 2008:

As the international community faces the challenge of developing a new treaty to replace Kyoto protocol after 2012, 19 NGOs from 9 different Arab countries unified their work on this process by forming the ‘Arab Climate Alliance’.

Together for Ras El Bar…to face such an environmental disaster Thursday, 17th of April, 2008

In solidarity with Damietta's people rejection for building Agrium's plant project for petrochemicals in Ras El Bar, which considered one of the most important tourist cities in Egypt, so we declare our solidarity for establishing this project in the current place there, and that for many reasons, and they are in brief:

  1. The negative impact of the project such stretching and growing on Ras El Bar summer resort city. As well, considered one of the important Egyptian summer resorts, and for what is going to affect in turn on the Egyptian tourism.

Habi Center for Environmental Rights is very pleased for the historical court order of the Federal High Court of Nigeria

The court ordered the shell petroleum development company to stop the gas flaring in the Niger Delta . this court order is also an example of positive and effective civil society participation . the case was brought to court through local communities and supported by Environmental Rights Action/Friends of The Earth Nigeria . without this cooperation and effective role of local communities and civil society , this court order would have not been issued .
