Civil Society and Climate Change 11th of March, 2008.

A seminar was hold on Climate Change by Regional Association Assemblies in Arish and lecturer there Mr. Abdullah El Hegawie (the general manager of environmental affairs by the governorate) as well, a film presented "The Terrified Reality" by Al Gore. Had attending the seminar many environmentalists, as well as, the same seminar is going to hold again in the Youth Center 6th of October in 12th of March, 2008. And the film had been copied and delivered for many sections including school.

The Celebration of the World Environment Day

Habi celebrated with World Environment Day of 2008 in Ras El Bar (English: Head of Land), Damietta. And that for the calling of the Protection of the Environment Committee for making the Center's Celebration there as a symbol of solidarity with the civil society of Damietta against the establishment of the fertilizer plant of "Agrium" in the tourist region Ras EL Bar,

    Building on the efforts that the Habi Center for Environmental Rights (HCER) has initiated three years ago to confront the acute air pollution problem in Cairo (which is referred to in the media by the Black Cloud), the HCER has filled a court case number 1898 dated October 22, 2002 requesting the Minister of Interior to issue a decree that will entail measuring the exhaust gases of Cairo vehicles.

    Black Cloud for the Sixth Year! Who is Responsible?

    Amidst a state of confusion and conflicting statements from government officials, the smog phenomenon (also known as the Black Cloud) has occurred for the sixth year challenging all the official statements. It also uncovered the complete failure of concerned authorities to coordinate amongst them to deal with this reoccurring environmental disaster which became a riddle! A riddle due to the contradicting statements of the government officials!

    Wadi Degla Campaign

    In response to the dangerous violations that took place in the national protectorate of Wadi Degla in Maadi (such as constructing a highway through it and the growing amount of garbage surrounding it), the HCER, in collaboration with several NGO's, has called the following officials:
