Asbestos campaign
Started in Aril 2004
Its objective: stopping the importation of Asbestos material and its products, and banning its use in Egypt.
The tools: 1. Conducting comprehensive legal research 2. Directing calls to the prime minister 3. Attending the parliament's sessions to discuss the matter attending a session included the problem's concerned parties under supervision of the competent ministry (Foreign Trade Affairs and Industry ministries) 4. Issuing several press statements and conducting a campaign in the press. 5. Printing a booklet concerning all the aspects of the issue. 6. Holding several meetings with workers who were badly affected by asbestos and a number of domestic organizations.
The campaign's results: A decree was issued from the competent minister to stop the importation of Asbestos material into Egypt.
